The Multi-Purpose Fast Rescue Boat named KIYEM 5, built at Yalova, Özata Shipyard, was launched into the sea in a ceremony.
The Multi-Purpose Fast Rescue Boats named KIYEM 5 and KIYEM 6, constructed by Yalova Özata Shipyard upon the request of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, were launched into the sea in a ceremony.
Özata Shipyard which delivered 2 search and rescue boats to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety in 2012 and received orders for 2 more, launched KIYEM 5 and KIYEM 6 in a ceremony. The boat launched at Özata Shipyard has a length overall of 23.30 meters and a beam of 6.60 meters. Constructed from aluminium, the KIYEM 5 boat has a full displacement of 70 tons, a draft of 2.20 meters, and can reach a speed of 27 knots.
Designed to withstand wave forces up to 6g and featuring a self-righting capability (able to right itself if overturned in water), KIYEM 5 and KIYEM 6 can provide immediate response to special situations with their 6-person crew. The launching ceremony of the KIYEM 5 boat at Özata Shipyard was attended by Yaşar Duran, the General Director of Coastal Safety, Altınova Municipality Mayor Dr. Metin Oral, and officials from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety.
