The passenger vessel which was ordered by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to Özata Shipyard for use in urban sea transportation and whose name was determined as “Attila İlhan” by the votes of the people of Izmir, arrived to Izmir on the poet’s birthday.
The passenger vessel Attila İlhan, one of the vessels ordered by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality from Özata Shipyard in Altınova, anchored in the Gulf. The passenger vessel whose name was determined as “Attila İlhan” by the votes of the people of Izmir, met with the Gulf of Izmir on the poet’s birthday.
According to the statement made by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the passenger vessel designed to improve sea transportation in the city has arrived in the city.
The vessel named after the world-famous Izmir poet Attila İlhan as a result of a survey by citizens, arrived in the city on June 15, the poet’s birthday.
Attila İlhan, the 6th vessel delivered after Dokuz Eylül, Çakabey, 1881 Atatürk, Soma 301 and Dario Moreno, will be put into service after the completion of the official procedures at the Izmir Port Authority.
15 of the ships ordered by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to improve maritime transportation in the city will be produced.
Vessels of catamaran hull type and made of ‘carbon composite’ material, which is stronger than steel, lighter than aluminum, longer lasting and has lower operating costs, will soon start voyages to the outer gulf.
