FIRST FEMALE CAPTAIN

The landing ceremony of the Sait Altınordu vessel in the Gulf also witnessed a first. Following the female driver application initiated in municipal buses affiliated with ESHOT, the employment of female captains started in İZDENİZ. Renda Aslantaş took the helm as the first female ferry captain on the Sait Altınordu ferry that entered service. Aziz Kocaoğlu, who traveled on the first voyage of the ferry, visited Aslantaş in the wheelhouse.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has put 9 ships produced to date into service, named these vessels Çakabey, 9 Eylül, 1881 Atatürk, Soma 301, Dario Moreno, Attila İlhan, Foça, Cengiz Kocatoros and Gürsel Aksel. The passenger car vessels that were delivered were named Hasan Tahsin and Ahmet Piriştina, which also stood out in the survey.
