The first welding ceremony for two car ferries to be built at Yalova Özata Shipyard for Kenya Ferry Services under the Ministry of Transport of Kenya took place.
The first welding of two car ferries to be built at Yalova Özata Shipyard for Kenya Ferry Services, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport of Kenya, was conducted.
The car ferries to be constructed at Özata Shipyard will be 85 meters in length, 18 meters in width, with a capacity to carry 60 vehicles. They will provide passenger and vehicle transportation services between Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, countries bordering Lake Victoria.
Speaking at the ceremony for the first welding of the car ferries to be built for Kenya Ferry Services, Özata Shipyard Chairman of the Board Özdemir Ataseven noted that the new ferries are designed not only for vehicle transportation but also for passenger transportation.
The keel-laying ceremony for the car ferries was attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Kenya, the Ambassador of Kenya to Ankara, and officials from Özata Shipyard.
